Tito's La Especial: Experience Authentic Mexican Flavors in Santa Ana

Love Tito's Tacos! I've been eating here for over a decade. Never disappointed, food is delicious. Red sauce might be spicy for some but I always ask for express because I love it.

Great place to have tacos al vapor, however they are missing the classic “chicharrón prensado”. They accept credit cards, parking is limited.

I LOVE TITOS TACOS! I don't eat meat, so its always a treat to have tacos! They have potato and beans... As well as shredded beef and shredded chicken. They have a buy 4 get 1 free special Monday thru Friday... As well as other Mexican dishes... The service us usually pretty quick and orders are always right.

The tacos are so good. The salsa is spicy which gives the tacos a good kick. If you visit this place I recommend calling your order ahead for quick pick up. Parking can be limited on the weekends.

We got the #3 combo, 2 tacos al vapor rice and beans. Frijoles, de papa, y de pollo. All pretty good. I'm from GDL and these tastes pretty close to the ones in Saint John of God. (If you know, you jnow!)

Tacos Al Vapor. This is why you come to Tito’s La Especial. Tacos Al Vapor are a specialty taco that is a Northern Mexico take on Tacos de Canasta. Tacos Al Vapor are nearly impossible to find outside of Mexico and the LA area. I live in the Phoenix area and so far, I have struck out completely trying to find them anywhere in AZ. Tacos Al Vapor are a taco that has a corn tortilla that is bathed or lightly fried in hot chile oil, then filled with a precooked mixture typically of potatoes, beans, Chicharron, or a stewed meat. Then the tacos are layered in steamer or pot and steam cooked for a short bit (15-30 minutes). The taco flavors are totally absorbed and infused throughout the entire taco-shell to filling. Tito’s La especial makes an excellent taco Al Vapor in four flavors: potato, bean, chicken, and beef. My favorites are potato and bean, but I really like the chicken and beef also. Tito’s also makes an excellent Taco Dorado de Carne de res (shredded beef hard taco) and Tostada Especial (shredded beef tostada). The prices at Tito’s are excellent! The value and flavor per dollar spent are off the charts! If you’ve never had a taco Al Vapor, and you live in or are visiting north Orange County, please make the trek to Tito’s and try out this delicious specialty taco. Some of my favorite items are: Tacos Al Vapor (potato, bean, chicken, or beef) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Taco Dorado (hard taco) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tostada Especial (shredded beef tostada) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My guide on how I use the 5 star system: ⭐ = Not good ⭐⭐ = Not terrible, but would not get again ⭐⭐⭐ = Solid, but I’d try something else before this again ⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Really liked it! You should try this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Loved it! Must try I’ll make adjustments to my ratings after subsequent visits. If you see a .3 or .7 it means: .3 = Wasn’t as good the 2nd or last time I tried it .7 = This was better the 2nd or last time I tried it.

Please never change!! Always so good! The only thing I order here are the tacos de res, so can't speak for anything else, but these are the things I crave when in town.

This is one of those classic, tiny, hole-in-the-wall places that delivers no-frills, fantastic food at a reasonable price. I'd never had tacos de vapor before, and Tito's came highly recommended by a friend - and he was right! I had one taco de rez and one pollo and WOW the flavor! I ordered the combo with beans and rice and both of those were very flavorful as well. I will definitely be back!
